Why we use AWS
AWS is the most mature and feature-complete cloud platform available. It offers more services, more regions, and more flexibility than any alternative. For most applications we build, AWS provides the right balance of power, reliability, and cost control.
We're not AWS consultants - we're developers who use AWS as the infrastructure layer for the applications we build. That means we design architectures that are practical and cost-effective, not ones that use every service in the catalog. Most of our deployments use a straightforward combination of EC2 or ECS for compute, RDS for databases, S3 for storage, and CloudFront for CDN.
For simpler applications, we use serverless patterns (Lambda, API Gateway) to minimize operational overhead. For larger systems, we design container-based architectures with proper CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting. The right approach depends on the application - not on what's trendy.

Systems that need to meet compliance requirements (SOC 2, HIPAA, PIPEDA)

When your team is already invested in Azure or GCP and there's no compelling reason to switch
Simple static sites that can be deployed to Vercel or Netlify for free
When cost control is paramount and the application is simple enough for a VPS
